About this assessment

I designed this assessment after examining why being organised so often fails to reduce mental load.

Through my own experience, research into decision fatigue and invisible work, and careful observation of how family life actually operates over the course of the day, I noticed the same patterns coming up again and again.

The questions focus on three key areas that consistently create a feeling of heaviness:

  • How much of the thinking falls on you

  • The standards you’re quietly holding yourself to

  • How your home and routines actually function day-to-day.

Much of what drains mental energy isn’t obvious or dramatic. It’s the repetitive and never-ending need to notice, adjust, remember, and compensate.

Psychological and social research has shown that this kind of invisible work and responsibility is a major contributor to anxiety and burnout — particularly in family life.

This assessment is about understanding what’s really going on, so you’re not carrying more than you need to.
